‘Obama handshake’ triggers anger in Iran parliament

 

The Iranian foreign minister’s reported handshake with US President Barack Obama triggered chants of “Death to America” in Tehran’s parliament Wednesday and a warning against “another kind of spying”.

The foreign ministry has confirmed a “completely accidental” encounter between Obama and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday, without denying there was a handshake as reported by Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency.

But hardline lawmakers went on the offensive against Zarif.

Porsche responds to wrongful death lawsuit filed by Paul Walker's daughter Meadow

 

Porsche has responded to Meadow Walker's wrongful death lawsuit, which claimed her father’s tragic death was due to design flaws with the car he was in. 

Lawyers for 16 year old Meadow Walker, claim her Dad survived the impact of the crash but suffered horrifically when he was helplessly trapped inside the 2005 Carrera GT when it burst into flames.

According to the lawsuit, when the car crashed and broke apart the seat belt “snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis."

Nigeria’s crude oil export slides

There are indications that Nigeria’s crude oil exports may fall by about 10 per cent in November, as loading were assessed to be on the lower scale.

Indeed, loading programmes continued to emerge on Monday, with exports on track to fall from October’s high.

The provisional loading programmes showed that Nigeria plans to export a total of 56.66 million barrels of oil, or 1.89 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil in November, which is a decline from the 63.1 million barrels, or 2.04 million bpd, planned initially for October loading.

Robbers kill policeman,others in Port Harcourt

 

A GANG of four armed robbers yesterday killed three people, including a policeman along Olu-Obasanjo Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Guardian gathered that the victims had just made huge withdrawal and were heading home when they were attacked by the bandits who may have capitalised on the perennial hold-up in that axis of the city.

Eyewitnesses said that the hoodlums, who had trailed the deceased trio, shot directly into their car, before carting away the money.

Mob kill man who brutally murdered his older brother in Port Harcourt

The Lagos state police command on Sunday September 27th arrested a woman simply identified as Victoria, for allegedly attempting to use the four-month old twins of Mrs Ruth Uche, whose husband fled after she gave birth to them, to defraud a retired police commissioner.

According to reports, Victoria who is a wife and mother of two is an acquaintance of the Uches and had asked that they "lend" her their twins so she could feature them in a movie. Unknown to the Uches, Victoria wanted to use their twins to extort money from the police chief who is the father of her ex lover.
