Armed Robbers storm Catholic Church in Abuja
The Catholic Church of Annunciation, Kubwa, was upgraded as a Parish by
the Archdiocese of Abuja and less than 3 months after the upgrade,
suspected armed robbers stormed it and carted away valuable equipment
and a Toyota Camry.
The robbers forced their way into compounds and carted away whatever they could lay their hands on.

Eid-el-Kabir Festival-- Osun Provides Free Train Service
The Osun
Government on Sunday said it would provide free train service for its
citizens who would be travelling to Osogbo from Lagos for the
Eid-el-Kabir festival.
This is contained in a
statement issued by Semiu Okanlawon, the media aide to Governor Rauf
Aregbesola, and made available to journalists in Osogbo.

Reports reaching us have indicated that the kidnappers of Olu Falae, a chieftain of Afenifere and National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), have demanded for a N100 million ransom.
Chief Falae, a
former secretary to the government and presidential aspirant in the
1999 presidential elections, was kidnapped from his home in the Akure
North Local Government Area of Ondo State early Monday.

No fewer than 53 people have died in 11 states from floods that
displaced more than 100,420 people this year.Thousands of houses,
farmlands and property worth billions of Naira were also lost to the
flood disasters in many local government areas affected in the northern

The affected states are Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Jigawa, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe and Bauchi.

Code of Conduct Tribunal issues fresh arrest warrant on Saraki
51 confirmed dead in multiple bomb blast in Maiduguri
51 people have so far been confirmed dead in the multiple
bomb blast that rocked the Gomari and Ajilari areas of Maiduguri
yesterday night. NEMA officials say the death toll may increase as many
of the victims are in very critical conditions. Suspected Boko Hamarm
members planted one of the bombs inside a mosque while people were
praying.
