Sani Usman, the army spokesperson revealed that military engineers were making progress in the repairs of the bridge.

According to him, the bridge repairs would soon be completed.

In July 2014, a bridge linking Maiduguri- Gamboru- Ngala- Cameroon Republic had been blown off by suspected Boko Haram members.

Since President Muhammadu Buhari gave the Nigerian military an ultimatum to curb Boko Haram activities, they have succeeded in clearing large areas held by insurgents in the north eastern region.

These areas include Gamboru-Ngala, a busy market community re-taken by the terrorists after it was liberated by the Chadian forces in March and handed over to the Nigerian military.
