Mina stampede: 54 Nigerians confirmed dead
Fifty-four Nigerians have been confirmed to have died during
Thursday’s stampede in Mina, Saudi Arabia NAN reports. The confirmation
was given by Alhaji Abdullahi Mukhtar, Chairman, National Hajj
Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Monday at a news conference in Makkah.
No fewer than 717 pilgrims died and 805 others injured in the stampede when the pilgrims trooped to perform the ritual of the symbolic stoning of the devil. Boko Haram kills 9 in Borno
The Borno Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of nine persons after a suspected Boko Haram insurgents’ attack in Mailari village in Konduga Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno.
Mr Aderemi Opadoku, the Commissioner of Police said this while speaking with newsmen in Maiduguri.

I don’t have breast implants – Angela Okorie
Popular actress, Angela Okorie, has
refuted claims that she has breast implants. In a chat with Saturday
Beats, she said that the rumours were fuelled because of a picture she
posted on her instagram account.

What breast implants? I was the one that posted a picture on my social

[PHOTOS] Foremost Northern Journalist, Islamic Scholar Among Victims Of Hajj Stampede
The
first female editor from Northern Nigeria, Hajiya Bilkisu Yusuf, and a
prominent academic, Prof. Tijjani El-Miskin, are among the 717 persons
confirmed dead in the Saudi Hajj stampede.
Hajiya Bilkisu Yusuf was a veteran
journalist by profession and a political scientist by training. She
received a B.Sc. in political science from Ahmadu Bello University,
Zaria, and an M.A. in political science from the University of
Wisconsin, USA. She studied journalism at the Moscow Institute for
Journalism and International Relations and earned an advanced diploma in
journalism and international relations.
